Summary

His bid for a second chance this Christmas might lead to her most disastrous fall yet。

Police officer Graham Lockhart’s life is dangerous enough without accident-prone Piper Wells tripping around in it—at least that’s what she claimed when she declined his marriage proposal two years ago。 But he can’t help but wonder if there is more to her refusal。

Piper always cared for Graham, but she is incapable of giving him the one thing he wants more than anything—family。 All her orphaned self knows about that is how much it hurts to lose。 She’s better off focusing on caring for her nephew and running her business。 Secondhand furniture doesn’t break hearts。

When an injury sidelines Piper leading into the holidays, Graham steps up to help her keep her commitment to a Christmastime auction benefiting a local family。 Can they overcome the hurdles between them, or will the past and their warring hopes and fears trip them up for good?

Visit Redemption Ridge, Colorado and enjoy the faith, friendships, and forever-afters of the Christmas in Redemption Ridge series of Christian romance。

This series is a spin-off continuation of the best-selling Heroes of Freedom Ridge Series with all new characters and traditions, but the same magic of community and romance readers love。

This story spoke to my heart, as did the heroine journey。 "Granted, any risk was more than she could tolerate, but that was hard to explain to people。 They called her a pessimist。 They thought her too fearful。 They argued she ought to have more faith。" This story spoke to my heart, as did the heroine journey。 "Granted, any risk was more than she could tolerate, but that was hard to explain to people。 They called her a pessimist。 They thought her too fearful。 They argued she ought to have more faith。" 。。。more

Bidding on a Second Chance was an absolute delight to read。 It had some humorous moments, but didn't shy away from dealing with serious topics, such as what happens to families when one member becomes an addict, or how fear can keep a person from living a fulfilling life。 Reading about the faith journeys of the main characters gives the reader insight into them like nothing else can。 Oh, and there's a cute puppy and a hurting young boy to round out the story。 This second-chance romance is touchi Bidding on a Second Chance was an absolute delight to read。 It had some humorous moments, but didn't shy away from dealing with serious topics, such as what happens to families when one member becomes an addict, or how fear can keep a person from living a fulfilling life。 Reading about the faith journeys of the main characters gives the reader insight into them like nothing else can。 Oh, and there's a cute puppy and a hurting young boy to round out the story。 This second-chance romance is touching and sweet, and I heartily recommend it to readers of clean romance and to readers of Christian romance。 I would definitely read more from author Emily Conrad。I received a complimentary copy and am sharing my opinion of this well-written book。 。。。more

This was a nice, inspirational book in the Christmas in Redemption Ridge series。  The characters quickly pulled me into the book because they had a history together and I had to quickly read to see if they had a future together。Piper had commitment issues because her parents died in a car accident when she was 9。  Graham's parents divorced and his mom left and said it was too hard to visit him。  I liked how both characters chose to turn to their faith to help them overcome their past。  I enjoyed This was a nice, inspirational book in the Christmas in Redemption Ridge series。  The characters quickly pulled me into the book because they had a history together and I had to quickly read to see if they had a future together。Piper had commitment issues because her parents died in a car accident when she was 9。  Graham's parents divorced and his mom left and said it was too hard to visit him。  I liked how both characters chose to turn to their faith to help them overcome their past。  I enjoyed the other themes in the book too。It was quite inspirational which I enjoyed in a Christmas book。  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review。 。。。more

Emotionally rich and rewarding storyWhat I love about Emily’s stories is the emotional complexity of her characters。 You will always learn something new about yourself or others through the characters she develops, and Graham and Piper are no exceptions。 A sweet story that keeps you engaged throughout with wonderful sensory details and a fresh story line that isn’t predictable。 Another good read from one of my favorite contemporary Christian authors。

I can always count on Emily to write books with love, romance, and strong faith and “Bidding on a Second Chance” was no exception。 You may think love and romance is redundant but it’s not。 There was a beautiful romance between Piper and Graham, yes, but there was also strong friend, family, and community love。 Which I adored。And as with every other Emily Conrad book I’ve read (I’ve read all of them) the faith was solid。 Piper had serious fear, something that held her back from living life to the I can always count on Emily to write books with love, romance, and strong faith and “Bidding on a Second Chance” was no exception。 You may think love and romance is redundant but it’s not。 There was a beautiful romance between Piper and Graham, yes, but there was also strong friend, family, and community love。 Which I adored。And as with every other Emily Conrad book I’ve read (I’ve read all of them) the faith was solid。 Piper had serious fear, something that held her back from living life to the fullest and living a beautiful life with Graham。 She’s been through some trials and tribulations, so her fear was warranted but Graham’s reminder of “The Bible says we’ll have trouble in this world” from John 10:10 especially spoke to me since that’s my favorite verse。 But Graham’s steadfast and enduring love was a beautiful reflection of Jesus loving us despite our flaws。I loved the small town, Christmasy feel to this story and seeing the whole community come together for the auction and also for the scare at the end of the book (no spoilers 😉)。 This story was so much more than a romance and second chance at forever。 It was a story of healing, forgiveness。 and overcoming fears, for both main characters。 RATINGS⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✝️✝️✝️✝️💋 。。。more

The problem of trust。 Lack of trust drove them apart, will they have a second chance? This book deals with fear and our ability to trust God and not ourselves。 It is a sweet romance with a good message。 A fitting inclusion in the Redemption Ridge series。

Another great book in the series, this one by Emily Conrad。 Graham had proposed to Piper two years ago in the local restaurant and she’d refused and left him。 She had her reasons, at least she thought she was doing the right thing。 Now she’s been hurt in an accident and he steps up to help。 He doesn’t know if she will ever return his love, but he was born to serve so that’s what he does。*I received this book as an ARC reader and am leaving my unbiased review。

Bidding on a Second Chance is the stuff of second chance romance dreams。 Things went south for Piper and Graham, not because of some giant blow up or lack of caring。 Piper was scared。 She felt like a magnet for trouble。 To be honest, to some degree she was。 But instead of really facing the fear, she ran, breaking a few hearts in the process。 But life brings them back together and gives them a second chance。 For a good part of the book I wanted to shake Piper。 She was so fearful of so much。 To a Bidding on a Second Chance is the stuff of second chance romance dreams。 Things went south for Piper and Graham, not because of some giant blow up or lack of caring。 Piper was scared。 She felt like a magnet for trouble。 To be honest, to some degree she was。 But instead of really facing the fear, she ran, breaking a few hearts in the process。 But life brings them back together and gives them a second chance。 For a good part of the book I wanted to shake Piper。 She was so fearful of so much。 To a point, I get it, because anxiety can do that to you but yeesh。 I did love how she really sat down to think through all the fears and what-ifs to really see the possible outcomes as all the help she could and would receive if the worst really did happen。 It's always nice to see growth in second chance romances, especially when it's not because someone was a jerk leading to the break up。 Those are hard to root for。 This was just utter fear on Piper's part。 And I loved Graham's persistent, yet gentle, pursuit of getting her heart back。 He challenged her in a good way。 The conversation between Graham and Bryce towards the end of the story was so heart wrenching and heartwarming at the same time。 I felt a slight sting of tears behind my eyes。 It really was such a turning point for both guys and it was so rewarding。 Also, the epilogue of this book was adorable and downright hilarious。 Like I can't explain why because I don't want to spoil anything but it really fits with the whole vibe of the book。 。。。more

This story really pulled at my heart! I had an ARC for this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion。 Piper Wells and Graham Lockhart had broken up couple years ago after she refused his proposal, but when she is hit by a truck and needs help, he steps in to assist her。 Her fears have kept her from living life to the fullest, and Graham helps her see that God is the answer, and she doesn’t need to fear。 An inspirational Christmas book worth the read。

I've enjoyed every one of the visits I've made this year to Redemption Ridge, and I couldn't wait to try out Emily Conrad's contribution, Bidding on a Second Chance。 She's a new to me author, and I was interested to see what kind of story she would bring to this charming small town。 This was a lovely and heartwarming second chance romance that dove into some deeper themes, and I was left with a big smile on my face after finishing it。Graham and Piper were head over heels in love, but circumstanc I've enjoyed every one of the visits I've made this year to Redemption Ridge, and I couldn't wait to try out Emily Conrad's contribution, Bidding on a Second Chance。 She's a new to me author, and I was interested to see what kind of story she would bring to this charming small town。 This was a lovely and heartwarming second chance romance that dove into some deeper themes, and I was left with a big smile on my face after finishing it。Graham and Piper were head over heels in love, but circumstances caused her to give up on their hopes for happily ever after, and instead she chose to run and be content being single。 When an accident causes her to need help from unexpected places, Graham is quick to volunteer。 Soon it's no surprise that old feelings start to emerge, but both realize that rekindling their relationship can't happen until they've both dealt with the old hurts and insecurities that caused the failure the first time around。As Graham and Piper work on their relationship, they'll learn the truth that only our Heavenly Father can truly heal all hurts, and we have to be able to trust Him to do so。 A beautiful story about grieving, grace and redemption, Bidding on a Second Chance is a perfect illustration that none of us are perfect, and God is able to do immense things when we trust Him to turn the broken into beautiful。I ended up being quite impressed with Emily Conrad's writing style, and the way she was so effortlessly able to weave a story that kept the reader engaged right throughout。 I'll definitely be looking into reading more of her books in the future, and I'd highly recommend this one to anyone who enjoys heartwarming holiday romances that shine a light to the true reason for the season。Final Rating: 4/5。Another wonderful visit to Redemption Ridge, and I hope there will be more stories set in this wonderful town in the years to come。Thanks so much to Emily Conrad for allowing me to advance read and review this title! Where does one get a Graham? It's been a while since a CCR hero had me this invested in his story so fast! Highly recommend。 Also - I read it in one sitting so be prepared :)I received a complimentary copy of this book。 I was not required to write a favorable review。 All thoughts and opinions are my own。 。。。more

The first book I read from Emily Conrad was Justice, and it was an amazing read! Knowing what an amazing author she is, I was looking forward to reading her newest book And it did not disappoint! In fact, I read it all within 24 hours which is very rare for me。 This cozy, Christmas story is one of hope and redemption that is solidly built on the Lord。 I absolutely loved the characters of Piper and Graham, and I absolutely loved the story。 I highly recommend it!I voluntarily received a compliment The first book I read from Emily Conrad was Justice, and it was an amazing read!
